My Guinea Pigs Love Liquorice

My 2 Guinea's Casper & Starr surprised me one day when I was eating Liquorice, they more or less took it out of my mouth!! I did give them a little bit just to see what happened and they loved it, is there any reason why Guinea's can't be given sweeties like wine gums another treat Casper enjoys or liquorice? Or does anyone know of their Guinea's enjoying human's sweets?

I think It rots their teeth,like us,or builds up acid in the stomach.Anyway it's bad for them.My previous Guinea,(Read 'Jasper'to find out about him)Jasper,Liked tangerine and orange,but a book by Cavy specialist Peter Gurney,who has been studying cavies for over 12 years,said that he had never seen a cavy eat orange or tangerine,and they probably didn't like it.But Jasper did.

I've also read that oranges and tangerines are not good for guinea pigs, but I've also heard they are fine for them. My guinea Bella loves both and don't bother her at all... so it may depend on the guinea pig...
